6th annual Big Truckin Car Show set for June 27 in Cahone

Vehicle owners who want a spot in Cahone’s 6th annual Big Truckin Car Show will need to be at Cahone Park by 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, when registration starts and the public gate opens free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The show will bring vehicles of all makes and models to the park on Highway 491, about 10 miles southeast of Dove Creek in Dolores County. Organizers are inviting motorcycles, muscle cars, trucks, rat rods, big rigs and other unique rides, and they are still looking for entrants, sponsors and vendors.

That mix gives the event a practical role in a rural county where a single well-attended gathering can mean business for food sellers and craft vendors, plus a little extra foot traffic for nearby stops along the Highway 491 corridor. One listing says the event will also include a fundraiser for a local nonprofit, adding a direct community payoff to a day built around chrome, diesel and old-fashioned curiosity.

The Pinto Bean described the show as family friendly and encouraged visitors to bring lawn chairs and spend the day. A KSJD community calendar listing said organizers are also framing the 2026 show around the nation’s 250th anniversary, a sign that the event has grown into a recurring summer fixture rather than a one-time display. After six years, the formula is clear: a free Saturday in Cahone, a modest entry fee for show vehicles, and enough local activity to make Highway 491 feel like a destination for the day.
