Castle Rock Festival Park Farmers Market starts May 24

Castle Rock’s downtown summer season will get a weekly anchor Sunday, May 24, when the Festival Park Farmers Market opens with nearly 40 vendors and runs every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Oct. 11. Organized again by The LOCAL Colorado, the market is set to bring locally raised meats, farm-fresh eggs, fresh produce, baked goods and artisan-made products back to Festival Park.

The location matters as much as the calendar. Festival Park sits in the heart of downtown Castle Rock, where a steady Sunday market can turn a single outing into a wider boost for nearby shops, cafes and restaurants. A recurring crowd means more foot traffic, more reasons to linger and more chances for downtown businesses to catch families who come for groceries and stay for lunch, a walk or an afternoon in the park.

Castle Rock is also folding the market into a broader seasonal push. The town’s 2026 downtown event season includes a Summer Kickoff Concert in Festival Park on May 16, just days before the market opens, signaling a stronger effort to build a predictable warm-weather rhythm around downtown. Festival Park is already a familiar gathering place, with the town pointing to First Fridays, the Farmers Market and the Western Heritage Welcome as part of its community calendar.

The setting gives the market a built-in civic draw. Festival Park includes a pavilion, two fire pits, a splash pad, an open lawn, a creekside picnic area and Wi-Fi, amenities that make it easier for shoppers to stay longer and for families to make the market part of a weekend routine. That kind of repeat traffic is valuable in a fast-growing town: it gives local vendors a dependable audience and helps keep Downtown Castle Rock active well beyond a single event day.

The LOCAL Colorado, which also presents farmers markets in Parker and at Southlands Shopping Center, is bringing that same market model back to Castle Rock for another summer.
