Castle Rock’s Tunes for Trails returns, summer concerts support parks foundation
Free concerts at Philip S. Miller Park will send donations and beverage sales to Castle Rock’s parks and trails foundation. The four-show series runs June through September.

Castle Rock is using its summer concert series to do more than fill the amphitheater. The town’s Tunes for Trails / Perks for Parks shows turn free music nights at Philip S. Miller Park into direct support for the Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation, with donations and beverage-sale proceeds going to future park and trail work.
The 2026 series runs on the third Thursday of each month, with shows set for June 18, July 16, Aug. 20 and Sept. 17. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and the concerts run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Amphitheater at Philip S. Miller Park. Food and alcohol will be available for purchase, and the town says outside beverages are restricted except for one factory-sealed water bottle per person.
The lineup keeps the focus local and familiar, with Colorado-based acts filling the schedule: The Rick Lewis Project on June 18, That Eighties Band on July 16, Santa Rios on Aug. 20 and Ninety Percent 90s on Sept. 17. The concerts are family-friendly and designed as a simple tradeoff for attendees: a night of live music in exchange for a funding stream that helps pay for the parks, trails and open-space amenities Castle Rock has made part of its identity.

That connection matters in a town built around recreation. Philip S. Miller Park is a 300-acre regional destination that includes the Millhouse events center, the Miller Activity Complex, Challenge Hill, an adventure playground and an interconnected trail network. The amphitheater itself seats more than 2,000 guests and is in its 10th anniversary season, underscoring how central the venue has become to the town’s public life.
The space is not used only for concerts. Castle Rock says the amphitheater also hosts weddings, graduations, church services and outdoor education programs, making it one of the most heavily used gathering places in the community. Tunes for Trails / Perks for Parks adds another layer to that role by tying one of the town’s most visible summer amenities to a civic purpose residents can see in the parks and trails system.

The Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation, which benefits from the series, also lists volunteer opportunities tied to each of the 2026 concerts, including the June, July, August and September shows. For Castle Rock, the arrangement is straightforward: a free night out at the amphitheater helps keep money circulating back into the trails and parks that many residents use all year.
