New Castle Rock Arts Foundation Seeks Community Logo, Offers Prize
The Castle Rock Art and Culture Foundation launched on December 27, 2025 and opened a community logo design contest that asks residents to submit original artwork by January 15. The effort aims to shape a new local cultural institution, support area artists, and expand access to arts programming that can strengthen community wellbeing.

The Castle Rock Art and Culture Foundation, formed in fall 2025, held its official launch on December 27 and immediately invited residents to help define its visual identity. The foundation is asking community members to submit original logo designs that reflect creativity, community and the spirit of Castle Rock. Entries must meet guidelines for original work, scalability and usage across communications and events. Submissions are due by January 15. Judging will take place in January and February, and the winner will be announced on March 1 and receive a one hundred dollar gift card and recognition.
The logo contest is the foundation's first public initiative, and leaders said it will inform how the organization presents itself when it begins hosting programs and partnering with venues. A community driven visual identity can help the new nonprofit build trust and visibility, drawing residents into events and outreach. For local artists, the contest creates a low barrier pathway to be recognized and to have work used on promotional materials, flyers and website content.
Beyond branding, the launch has implications for public health and social equity. Participation in arts programming is associated with improved mental health, social connection and civic engagement, particularly when programming is accessible to diverse residents. A new foundation that centers community input can expand opportunities for youth, older adults and people who have been historically excluded from arts funding and programming. Small prizes and volunteer based selection processes do not replace sustained public support, but they can create initial momentum and highlight the need for stable funding and inclusive policies at the county and municipal level.
The milestone also coincides with programming from other local arts groups. Tri Arts Project is inviting artists to submit designs for save the date and invitation materials for its third annual Art of Giving Gala in April. The Gala theme is COLOR. The selected design will appear across event materials, and the deadline for artwork is January 25. Together these calls for design work point to a busy spring for Castle Rock arts, and they give artists multiple opportunities to engage with the community.
For residents, the foundation and area nonprofits are offering more than events. They are offering a chance to shape how Castle Rock represents itself culturally, and to press for arts initiatives that prioritize accessibility, outreach and partnerships with schools, public health programs and social services. The logo contest timeline runs through March first, and artists and residents who wish to participate are encouraged to prepare submissions that are original and suitable for a range of uses.
