Ferdinand Library reschedules Just Andy Magic Show to July 23

The Ferdinand Library moved the Just Andy Magic Show to Thursday, July 23, at 1:30 p.m. Eastern and shifted its June 25 slot to a Community Room Fun & Games afternoon instead. The change keeps a children’s program on the calendar for families in Ferdinand, while changing the location to the Tri-County YMCA at 131 E. 16th Street.

The library’s June 25 notice said the Community Room would be open for Fun & Games from 1 to 4 p.m. Eastern. That gave parents, caregivers, grandparents and children a same-day alternative after the magic show was rescheduled from its original June 25 date. The new performance date now sits in the middle of the library system’s Summer Reading 2026 schedule, which runs from May 26 through July 17.

The rescheduled show also stays close to the Ferdinand branch’s home base. The branch has been part of Jasper–Dubois County Public Library since 1966 and is nestled on East 16th Street between the Tri-County YMCA and the Ferdinand Community Center. It began in the Ferdinand School’s former kindergarten building, then moved in 1968 to a larger West 10th Street location as collections and patron activity grew.

That local geography helps explain why the July 23 show could move without leaving the neighborhood. The Ferdinand summer program materials already list featured performances at the YMCA, and the branch’s event calendar for June and July shows an active lineup of Storytime, musical playtime and other family events. The July 23 stop now fits that pattern, with the YMCA serving as the host site instead of the library building itself.

Jasper–Dubois County Public Library operates four branches, in Jasper, Ferdinand, Dubois and Birdseye, and the Ferdinand branch remains one of its most active community spaces. For families planning summer outings, the practical update is simple: the Just Andy Magic Show is now set for July 23 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern at the Tri-County YMCA, while June 25 offered Fun & Games at the library instead.
