Heart of Jasper Plans Jasper in Bloom Open House for Mid-March Downtown
Jasper in Bloom, Heart of Jasper's three-day spring open house, wrapped up March 14 with merchants, the Spirit of Jasper Train, and the downtown Riverwalk as centerpieces.

Downtown Jasper's merchants threw open their doors for three days this past week as Heart of Jasper's "Jasper in Bloom" Spring Open House ran March 12 through 14, drawing visitors to shop, eat, and explore the Heart of Jasper district.
The all-day event, listed on the Visit Dubois County events calendar and Heart of Jasper's website at 610 Main Street, invited attendees to browse unique window displays across Greater Downtown Jasper storefronts, sample food and drink along the district, ride the Spirit of Jasper Train, visit local art galleries, spend time at the library, and stroll the Riverwalk. Heart of Jasper, a member organization of both Main Street America and Indiana Main Street, organized the three-day promotion as part of its broader mission to activate downtown Jasper.
Promotional materials from Heart of Jasper and the Dubois County Visitors Center and Tourism Commission described the event with the tagline "More details to bloom soon!" in the weeks leading up to March 12, suggesting the full merchant and activity schedule was still taking shape as publicity rolled out. The Visit Dubois County Instagram account confirmed the dates just days before the opening, posting that "Jasper In Bloom happening March 12-14."
Heart of Jasper has also hosted separate programming aimed at the business side of downtown. In a previously reported open house, the organization gathered prospective business owners and building owners at the City Hall Council Chambers at 4:30 p.m. on a Thursday in August, offering a presentation on incentives and resources available to new businesses. Building owners led tours of available downtown spaces from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. that evening. Virginia Caudill, Rural Navigator with the Indiana Small Business Development Center, presented information on the free services available to anyone looking to start a business. The Dubois County Entrepreneurs and Innovators followed with a networking session from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Livewire Co-Working Space, featuring cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. RSVPs for that event were directed to success@duboisstrong.com.
