Jasper, Huntingburg pools open Saturday, marking start of summer season
Jasper and Huntingburg will both open their pools Saturday at noon, each charging $5 admission and free entry for children 4 and under.

Dubois County families looking for a low-cost summer outing will have two municipal pools to choose from Saturday, when Jasper and Huntingburg both open at noon and begin their 2026 seasons.
Jasper Municipal Swimming Pool will run daily from noon until 7 p.m. Admission is $5, children 4 and under are free, and season passes cost $60. The city also says outside food or drink is not allowed, and a new bag-check safety policy is in place for the season. Jasper’s pool will close Aug. 2.
That makes Jasper a straightforward option for families planning regular weekday visits or full-day summer routines. The pool’s renovated setting, completed in 2025, includes two water slides, a diving board, a diving platform, a climbing wall, a zip line, a volleyball net and a wet deck. For households watching summer spending, the $60 season pass is the same price as Huntingburg’s 20-entry coupon book, but Jasper’s pass is built for unlimited visits.

Huntingburg Municipal Swimming Pool is opening the same day and also will close Aug. 2, but its schedule is more varied. The pool will be open Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m., Mondays from 12 to 5 p.m., Tuesdays from 12 to 8 p.m., Wednesdays from 12 to 5 p.m., Thursdays from 12 to 8 p.m., Fridays from 12 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 to 5 p.m. Daily admission is $5, with children 4 and under free.
Huntingburg gives families a different budget choice: 20-entry coupon books for $60, swim lessons for $75, pool rental for $300 and water aerobics for $5 per session. A pool phone number is available for rentals, lessons and aerobics, giving parents a direct line for summer scheduling. The pool also includes a slide, splash park and toddler area, which makes it especially useful for younger children and mixed-age groups.

The two openings mark the start of the summer recreation season in Dubois County, where late May has become the normal time for city pools to welcome back swimmers. Jasper’s new facility opened around Memorial Day weekend in 2025 after a year of construction, and Huntingburg has also favored a late-May launch in recent years, including a May 25, 2024 opening at noon.
