Arthur G. “Art” Dall, a lifelong Dubois County resident, died at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. Dall was 96 and had been a visible presence in military, civic and church life across Jasper, Ireland and Ferdinand for more than half a century.

A Ferdinand native, Dall was born November 29, 1929, to Anton and Johanna Dall and graduated from Huntingburg High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and remained active in veteran affairs throughout his life. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #673 and American Legion Post #147 and served on the Honor Guard for both organizations. Participation in the EVV5 Honor Flight was cited by family as one of his proudest moments.

Dall built a long career in local industry, retiring as vice president of sales from North American Products Corp. in Jasper after 37 years and continuing part-time for another decade. His business tenure made him a familiar figure in the county’s manufacturing and sales community, where stable employment and long-term leadership are central to the local economy.

A committed parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Dall served as a lector and, with his wife Rita Durcholz, was a recipient of the Simon Brute Award. The couple married October 16, 1954, at St. Mary in Ireland; Rita preceded him in death on December 4, 2025. Dall was also active in fraternal and service groups: he served as past president of the Ireland Lions Club, as past Grand Knight of Ireland Knights of Columbus Council 5581, and as a District Deputy for six years.

Family remained at the center of his life. He is survived by his daughter Linda Mauder of Jasper; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with another on the way; two sisters and a brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Allen Dall and several siblings.

For residents wishing to honor his memory, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church. Online condolences were accepted at becherkluesner.com.

Dall’s passing marks the loss of a bridge between Dubois County’s wartime generation and today’s civic institutions. His decades of service in veteran posts, the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club and local business leadership reflect a pattern of civic engagement that helped sustain community organizations across the county.
