Petersburg man jailed after Jasper pursuit for reckless driving, blood draw
A Petersburg man led Jasper officers on a reckless chase in a 2007 Ford F-250, stopped at the Dubois County Community Corrections lot, pulled down his pants and was later taken for a blood draw.

A 51-year-old Petersburg man was jailed after Jasper officers say he fled a domestic disturbance call and led them on a reckless pursuit that ended in the parking lot of Dubois County Community Corrections on Brucke Strasse. Authorities identified the suspect as Ryan Lashbrook and said he exited his pickup and pulled his pants down before being taken into custody.
Jasper police were dispatched at about 8:45 to 8:46 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, to the area of Second Avenue and Meridian Road after a woman reported her ex-boyfriend was at her residence causing a disturbance and dumping trash in her yard. Officers made contact with Lashbrook at the address before he refused commands and fled in a 2007 Ford F-250, police said.
As Lashbrook left the driveway, officers reported he “peeled out,” nearly colliding with another vehicle as he pulled onto Second Avenue. Jasper officers and deputies from the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office pursued him through the city, with police describing the driving as reckless during the chase. At the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue, officers said Lashbrook nearly struck two sheriff’s deputies before the pursuit reached the Dubois County Community Corrections lot.
After stopping on Brucke Strasse, Lashbrook exited the truck and pulled down his pants, then initially failed to comply with commands, according to police reports. Officers ultimately took him into custody; some accountings state he was taken into custody “without incident” after the initial noncompliance. Deputies and Jasper officers did not report any injuries to responding personnel in the accounts provided.
Investigators reported signs of impairment and transported Lashbrook for medical testing and a blood draw. Local booking records and reporting indicate he was taken to Deaconess Memorial Hospital for testing and medical clearance before being lodged at the Dubois County Security Center in Jasper.
Jail records list charges including resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, aggressive driving, reckless driving, three counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, one count with endangerment and one involving a controlled substance, and public nudity with a prior offense. Booking information shows Lashbrook remained jailed at the Dubois County Security Center after medical clearance.
The incident involved multiple Jasper Police Department units and Dubois County Sheriff’s deputies, ending at the county’s Community Corrections facility. The case remains in the early stages; defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. Journalists seeking court or charging records can check Dubois County booking and prosecutor filings for any updates to charges or scheduled hearings.
