Rotary Clubs’ Diaper Drive Delivers Thousands to TRI-CAP Families
The Rotary Club of Dubois County and the Rotary Club of Warrick County completed their second annual Holiday Diaper Drive in December 2025, collecting 1,541 diapers and 4,778 diaper wipes along with clothing and infant supplies. Donated items were turned over to TRI-CAP for distribution to families across Dubois, Warrick, and Pike counties, addressing a routine gap in essential goods for local households.

The Rotary Club of Dubois County, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Warrick County, completed its second annual Holiday Diaper Drive in December 2025 and announced the results on January 7, 2026. The drive collected a total of 1,541 diapers and 4,778 diaper wipes, supplemented by clothing and other infant supplies. Of the total, 1,122 diapers and 3,430 wipes were allocated to Dubois County, with the remaining items sent to Warrick County. TRI-CAP received the full collection for distribution to families in need across Dubois, Warrick, and Pike counties.
Diapers and wipes are consistently among the most-requested yet least-donated items in community assistance programs, making this collection particularly significant for families facing economic strain. TRI-CAP, the local community action agency, will direct the donations to households that rely on material aid for everyday infant care needs. For many families, assistance with basic supplies reduces immediate financial pressure and helps ensure access to childcare and healthy home conditions.
The drive underscores how local civic organizations and volunteers can fill gaps that formal safety net programs do not always address. While programs such as SNAP and WIC help with food and nutrition, they do not cover disposable diapers and many personal care items that families need every day. Community drives and partnerships with agencies like TRI-CAP provide a direct channel for residents to contribute to essential needs and for aid to reach families quickly.
Beyond the immediate relief provided by this year’s collection, the result highlights a recurring policy and planning question for local government and service providers: how to create stable, ongoing access to basic infant supplies outside of one-time drives. Local officials, nonprofit leaders, and community groups may consider whether expanded support mechanisms, coordinated diaper-banking systems, or regular donation programs could better match demand across Dubois, Warrick, and Pike counties.
Organizers thanked community donors for their contributions and noted that clothing and infant supplies collected alongside diapers and wipes will bolster TRI-CAP’s distribution efforts into the new year. For families relying on these services, the drive represents tangible support during a season when material needs often increase.
