Forsyth County Dedicates Freedom Park Campus, Offices Move March 30
Forsyth County cut the ribbon on its 135,000-sq-ft Freedom Park campus March 18, with administrative offices leaving 110 E. Main Street for good on March 30.

Forsyth County closed a 30-year chapter at 110 E. Main Street this week, cutting the ribbon Wednesday on Freedom Park, the county's new 135,000-square-foot administration campus at 2435 Freedom Parkway. Administrative offices will officially relocate there on March 30.
Chairman Alfred John, who represents District 2 on the Board of Commissioners, joined County Manager David McKee, Carroll Daniel Executive Vice President David Stone, and Jericho Design Group Managing Member and Owner Doug Shaw in delivering remarks at the ceremony. An open house followed the dedication, and a second public tour runs today, Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to noon for residents and stakeholders who want to walk the facility before county business transitions there.
The building is designed around what county officials call a "one-stop" concept, consolidating services to expedite and enhance permitting and the overall customer experience. Modernized meeting rooms feature improved audio-visual capabilities for official county business, and multiple conference rooms of varying sizes will be available to staff and the public through an electronic reservation system.

The county built with growth in mind. The structure stands ready to expand by an additional 75,000 square feet and accommodate a multi-level parking deck without acquiring additional land or disrupting county operations during construction.
The context behind that planning is striking: when the current administration building at 110 E. Main Street opened in 1996, Forsyth County had roughly 60,000 residents. Today that number exceeds 280,000, a more-than-fourfold increase that strained a facility never designed to serve a county of that scale. The move to Freedom Park represents the county's first purpose-built administrative home in three decades.
