Forsyth County Families Find Fun Close to Home This Spring Break
Spring break kicks off April 6 in Forsyth County, with 25,000 Easter eggs, free library storytime at City Center, and a bounce house blowout running until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

With Easter falling on April 5 and Forsyth County Schools releasing students for the week of April 6-10, families have a rare window when the holiday excitement and a full week off overlap perfectly. The good news: you don't need to book a hotel or fight airport traffic to fill it. From one of metro Atlanta's largest free Easter egg hunts to a free outdoor storytime at the Lou Sobh Amphitheater, the county has stacked the calendar with options that are close, affordable, and genuinely worth your time.
The Taste of Forsyth: 25,000 Eggs and 25 Restaurants Under One Roof
The Taste of Forsyth and Easter Egg Hunt at the Cumming Fairgrounds is one of the area's largest free events, featuring more than 25,000 eggs along with food samples from local restaurants. Held at 235 Castleberry Road, the event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with free admission and parking, making it one of the most accessible community gatherings on the spring calendar. Food samples from more than 25 area restaurants are available to purchase for $1 to $4 each.
The egg hunt is structured by age group so smaller kids aren't competing with older ones for eggs. Hunts are scheduled for ages 3 and under at 11:30 a.m., ages 4-7 at 1:00 p.m., and ages 8-10 at 2:30 p.m. Beyond the hunt, there will be live music, a kid zone with touch-a-truck, and a puppet show. The event is held in the fairgrounds' covered arena, so rain does not cancel it.
Vickery Village: Egg Hunts, Bunny Rescues, and DIY Crafts
The Vickery Village Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza, sponsored by Pinspiration Georgia and The Dojo, takes place in the Vickery Village Courtyard and features DIY crafts, photos with the Easter Bunny, games like corn hole and potato sack races, face painting, cotton candy, and trampoline fun. The egg hunts are divided into three age brackets: ages 3-7 at 10 a.m., ages 7-13 at noon, and an adults-only hunt for ages 21 and up at 2 p.m. The Easter Bunny is available for meet-and-greet photos from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The most unexpected element of the Vickery event: Binky On! Rabbit Rescue will be onsite with live bunnies for families to pet and play with, and all the rabbits will be available for adoption. For families who've been thinking about adding a pet, this may be the most consequential spring break decision of all.
Warbington Farms: A Multi-Weekend Farm Experience
For families who want to stretch Easter beyond a single afternoon, Warbington Farms offers a multi-weekend farm EGGStravaganza experience near Cumming, featuring baby animals, hay rides, and egg hunts. The farm format gives kids hands-on time with animals in a way the fairgrounds simply can't replicate, and the multi-day availability means it fits easily into the spring break week without requiring advance planning down to the hour.
Storytime at the Lou Sobh Amphitheater
The Forsyth County Public Library brings a free monthly storytime to the Lou Sobh Amphitheater at Cumming City Center, featuring stories, music, and an energetic puppet show, with the event happening on the first Tuesday of each month starting in April. That puts the April installment squarely inside spring break week, on Tuesday, April 7, making it a natural mid-morning anchor for families with younger children. There is no cost to attend, no registration required, and the amphitheater setting makes it work as a gathering spot even for kids who won't sit still indoors.
Bounce into Spring at Cumming City Center
Bounce into Spring comes to Cumming City Center on April 8, running from 1 to 8 p.m., with bounce houses, water slides, and nonstop games in a partnership between the City Center and Jump N Jacks Moonwalks. The seven-hour window gives families flexibility to show up mid-afternoon without feeling rushed, and the water slides make it a practical choice if temperatures cooperate. It lands on a Wednesday, the midpoint of the break, when families tend to need a second wind.
Forsyth County Parks and Recreation: Spring Break Camps
Forsyth County Parks and Recreation is offering spring break camps during the break week. The department operates 28 parks across the county, and the camps provide structured programming for kids whose parents are still working through the week. Registration details and specific camp locations are available through the Parks and Recreation department directly.
Planning the Week
The geometry of this spring break rewards families who pick two or three anchors and let the rest breathe. Easter Sunday itself brings the biggest crowds to egg hunts countywide. The weekdays open up the Cumming City Center programming, with the library's Tuesday storytime and Wednesday's bounce event forming a natural mid-week pair. Warbington Farms suits a slower Thursday or Friday when the fairgrounds crowds have thinned. Forsyth County built a calendar this week that doesn't require a car ride longer than 20 minutes in any direction, which, for a county that has grown as fast as this one, is no small achievement.
