A slow stop near Matt Highway and Dr. Bramblett Road turned into a drug and evidence case for Forsyth County investigators after agents with the Lanier Regional Drug Task Force said they saw a driver throw a baggie and a pipe out of a black Dodge Dart before pulling over.

Authorities identified the driver as Danny Dodd. He was booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, felony tampering with evidence, misdemeanor tampering with evidence, littering, and failure to maintain lane.

The stop happened earlier this week after task force agents said the Dodge Dart drifted out of its lane and the driver was slow to stop when officers tried to pull it over. Investigators say the discarded items hit the roadside before the vehicle came to a complete stop, raising the stakes from a routine traffic violation to a narcotics and evidence case.

A drug-detecting K9 named Eko was then called to the scene and reportedly located the items officers said had been thrown from the window. That detail matters in Forsyth County, where the Lanier Regional Drug Task Force has remained active in narcotics enforcement and where roadside stops continue to produce drug arrests tied to methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

The littering count also carries its own local significance. Under Georgia law, littering is a misdemeanor, and the statute bars dumping, depositing, throwing, or leaving litter on public or private property or waters in the state. In this case, investigators say the alleged disposal happened during a traffic stop, turning the roadside into part of the evidence trail.

The arrest comes as the task force has been involved in other Forsyth County drug cases, including a recent arrest in which two people were accused of possessing 78 pounds of cocaine and fentanyl after agents received a tip about possible drug trafficking. Together, the cases point to a broader enforcement picture in which local officers are watching for both impaired driving and the movement, concealment, and disposal of illegal drugs across county roads.
