Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Easter Eggstavaganza Draws 9,000 Families

What started as a few hundred families on the practice fields at Denmark High School two years ago drew 9,000 on Saturday, as the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Easter Eggstavaganza cemented itself as one of Forsyth County's largest annual community gatherings.

The third annual event brought children and parents out for age-separated egg hunts, K9 demonstrations from the FCSO's canine unit, food trucks, vendor booths, and a close-up look at Sheriff's Office patrol vehicles. Since the event's March 2024 debut, the format has been structured by age group so younger children are not competing against older hunters for eggs, a detail that helped drive the event's early reputation among Forsyth families.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Georgia's third-largest full-service law enforcement agency with nearly 500 employees, launched the Eggstavaganza as a direct extension of its community engagement mission. Operating out of four locations across the county, the agency has used high-attendance events like this one to build relationships with residents outside the context of enforcement.

The jump from hundreds at the inaugural 2024 gathering to 9,000 in the event's third year is a striking measure of how quickly the Eggstavaganza has grown. Forsyth County has been one of metro Atlanta's fastest-growing communities for over a decade, consistently adding new families still finding their local traditions. For the Sheriff's Office, Saturday was a signal that the Eggstavaganza may now be one of them.
