Forsyth County Traffic Stop Nets Two Drug Trafficking Suspects, Large Narcotics Seizure
K9 Eko's nose cracked open a drug case: a routine lane violation stop in Forsyth County led to seizure of roughly a pound of meth and two arrests.

A lane violation just after midnight on March 4 unraveled what authorities believe was a significant drug supply operation in Forsyth County, ending with two people in custody and a vehicle loaded with methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroin, and cash.
Members of the Lanier Regional Drug Task Force were on patrol when they spotted a Ford Escape failing to maintain its lane. The deputies initiated a traffic stop and quickly opened a DUI investigation after observing signs that the driver was under the influence of drugs. K9 Eko was called to the scene and performed a free-air sniff around the vehicle, alerting deputies to the presence of narcotics and clearing the way for a full search.
What investigators found inside went well beyond a personal-use quantity. Authorities reported locating approximately one pound of methamphetamine, more than a pound of marijuana, several grams each of fentanyl and heroin, multiple THC cartridges, various tablets, and a large amount of cash. No specific dollar figure for the cash has been released.
The driver, Riley Bryant, 27, and passenger Callie Gerrell, 28, were arrested at the scene and charged with multiple counts of trafficking and possession with intent to distribute. Both were transported to the Dawson County Jail. Bond information and court dates had not been publicly released as of this report.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said officials believed Bryant and Gerrell were supplying significant quantities of drugs in Forsyth County, suggesting the stop disrupted more than a single transaction. The combined weight of methamphetamine and marijuana alone exceeded two pounds, a volume consistent with distribution rather than personal use.
The Lanier Regional Drug Task Force, which draws deputies from multiple agencies across the region, has been active in Forsyth County narcotics enforcement. Specific charges, statute citations, and case numbers for Bryant and Gerrell had not been confirmed publicly at the time of publication.
