Johns Creek Boardwalk Hosts Free Easter Bunny Hop for Families

The newly completed Boardwalk at Town Center drew families to 11362 Lakefield Drive last Friday for Johns Creek's Easter Bunny Hop, a free outdoor event that moved attendees around the north pond through four hours of treats, crafts, and live DJ music.

The City of Johns Creek ran the Hop on April 3 from 4 to 8 p.m., routing visitors along the upper pond path where vendor stations handed out candy, arts-and-crafts booths offered hands-on activities for children, and a photo area gave families a chance to pose with the Easter Bunny. A DJ kept the atmosphere lively as the crowd circulated between stops.

Families were directed to stay near the north pond throughout the evening. Construction crews were still active along the south pond, and the city flagged those blocked sections as off-limits for safety. The north pond remained fully open, giving attendees unobstructed access to every vendor and activity station along the route.

Parking was available at City Hall and in nearby lots along Lakefield Drive and Johns Creek Parkway. Admission was free.

The Easter Bunny Hop was among the Boardwalk's first large-scale community activations since the facility's completion, and the city has signaled its intent to use the waterfront space as a recurring outdoor event venue. The station-to-station format gave local vendors early-season exposure at what the city is positioning as its central public gathering space, while offering families with young children a structured, walkable alternative to the typical festival footprint.

Johns Creek, which incorporated in 2006, has spent years building out a Town Center concept to anchor civic life in the city. The Boardwalk is among the most tangible results of that investment.
