Yoga lands at Newtown Park on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. Jazzercise follows on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m., and Wednesdays bring back-to-back options: barre at 10:15 a.m. and Zumba at 6 p.m., with Fitness 108 rounding out the weekday lineup on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. The City of Johns Creek launched its Free Outdoor Fitness program on March 8, and the sessions have been drawing participants to two parks without requiring a single dollar or a registration form.

Classes are held at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater at Newtown Park, 3150 Old Alabama Road, and at Cauley Creek Park, 7255 Bell Road. The program is open to participants 16 and older, with younger participants welcome if accompanied by an adult, and there is no registration requirement and no cost.

Cauley Creek Park runs its own Saturday schedule, with Functional Strength Training at 8 a.m. followed by Jazzercise at 9:15 a.m., with all Cauley Creek classes held at the park's 5K Staging Area field. Each session runs one hour, and the city asks participants to arrive 15 minutes early to sign a class waiver.

The format across locations spans the fitness spectrum. The Lift Yoga offering at the Newtown Park Amphitheater is an outdoor vinyasa-style class connecting breath with movement through a blend of strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, and is described as suitable for all levels with variations available throughout each session. Fitness 108 is a bodyweight-intensive class designed for all levels, incorporating full-body exercises to build strength, stability, and mobility.

New to the spring 2026 lineup is Walk with a Doc, held at Newtown Park and free to all comers. The city's program invites participants to walk at their own pace while receiving health tips from local healthcare providers. At recent yoga sessions, the Newtown Park amphitheater has drawn more than three dozen attendees spanning all ages and skill levels, offering a preview of the kind of turnout the broader program can generate.

The full class lineup runs from March through October, with all fitness sessions held outside when weather permits. The city frames the entire initiative as part of its commitment to making healthy living a routine part of daily life in Johns Creek, not an expense or inconvenience.

Participants in yoga and bar-less barre should bring their own exercise mat; everyone is encouraged to bring a water bottle.
