Pastor Dave Bonselaar of Bridge to Grace Church and North Fulton Community Charities Vice President of Operations Marten Jallad cut the ribbon March 11 on a new satellite food pantry and garden at 2385 Holcomb Bridge Road, marking the first time the Roswell-based nonprofit has extended its food distribution beyond its main Elkins Road campus.

The East Roswell location, housed at Bridge to Grace Church, is expected to serve around 100 families each week. NFCC says the satellite shortens travel times for clients in the eastern Roswell corridor who previously had to reach the main pantry on Elkins Road, where in 2025 the charity served nearly 10,000 people and more than 3,700 households, averaging 210 families per day.

A crowd of church volunteers, donors and community leaders gathered for the ceremony and toured the grounds, which include a volunteer-built garden designed to supply fresh produce directly to the pantry. Fresh produce ranked among the food pantry's most frequently requested items. The pantry also stocks bread, canned goods, feminine hygiene products and diapers.

Clients access the East Roswell pantry through an online sign-up system that assigns points based on household size. Food items carry point values displayed online, allowing families to select what they need within their allotted budget before arriving. According to NFCC's website, the East Roswell pantry is open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. by appointment only, and prospective clients must complete an online interest and address form to confirm eligibility.

The satellite opening follows years of expansion at NFCC. The organization completed a three-year, $6.2 million Growing with Purpose capital campaign that produced the Barbara Duffy Center at 11275 Elkins Road, a service hub that opened in April 2021 and houses NFCC's assistance and education teams under one roof for case management, workforce development and education programs. Executive Director Holly M. York said the campaign was rooted in an awareness of mounting community need, though the scale of that need caught even the organization off guard. "When we started the Growing with Purpose capital campaign three years ago, we knew we needed to expand to continue to serve the growing needs of our community," York said. "We had no idea that we would face a global pandemic that would increase the need for our services faster than we could have anticipated."

The campaign drew support from hundreds of donors, including six-figure contributions from the City of Roswell, LexisNexis Risk Solutions, North Point Community Church, Mount Pisgah UMC, the Truist Foundation and the Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation, among others.

North Fulton residents seeking assistance at the East Roswell pantry can reach NFCC at (770) 640-0399 or visit nfcchelp.org to complete the eligibility form and schedule an appointment.
