Cindy Love was hired to spend the night caring for a Forsyth County homeowner's pets in February. By early March, the homeowner noticed clothing gone from her closet and several River Bend Ranch steaks missing from her refrigerator. It was not Love's first time in this position.

Detectives with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office were already well acquainted with the pet sitter. According to the sheriff's office, Love had been arrested in multiple jurisdictions in 2024 on nearly identical allegations: stealing jewelry from a victim in June of that year, then jewelry, handbags, and clothing from a second victim in August. In those cases, investigators say she sold the stolen goods to consignment shops. Both 2024 cases remain in the court system.

When the homeowner reported the missing clothing and steaks, detectives gathered enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for Love's home. The search turned up 18 stolen items, all of which were returned to the victim. Love was then arrested in Cumming and charged with two counts of theft by taking.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office used its Facebook page to announce the arrest, describing Love as a "sticky-fingered" pet sitter and urging residents who hire in-home pet care to take specific precautions: verifying credentials, conducting background checks, meeting in person before any agreement, checking references, and trusting their instincts.

Love now faces the new theft by taking charges while her two prior cases from 2024 continue moving through the court system. No attorney for Love has been identified in connection with the current charges.
