Woman Arrested for Allegedly Using Stolen Credit Card at Forsyth Walmart

Maria Del Aquino Susanibar faces multiple felony fraud charges after deputies say she used a victim's lost American Express card to make nearly $2,000 in unauthorized purchases at the Walmart on Market Place Boulevard.

The victim's first indication something was wrong came not from a missing wallet but from a notification on their phone: an American Express declined-transaction alert tied to the Market Place Boulevard store on March 23. A closer review of the account revealed the declined attempt was not the only activity. Two earlier approved transactions at the same location had already processed, together totaling close to $2,000.

The victim had misplaced their wallet earlier that day, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. Investigators traced the purchases through transaction timestamps, payment-processor records, and surveillance footage from the store. That combination of evidence led deputies to Susanibar, who was arrested and booked on charges that included transaction card theft and fraudulent use of a transaction card, both felony counts. Booking records reflect a late-March date for the charges.

The case is expected to move through Forsyth County State or Superior Court as prosecutors finalize formal charging documents. No indictment or grand-jury action had been reported at the time of the arrest; scheduled court appearances will address bond, discovery, and any additional counts.
