Man Killed, Two Others Wounded in Fresno Apartment Shooting Near Pleasant and Fedora

Fresno police responded at 10:53 a.m. on December 22 to a ShotSpotter activation that detected nine rounds and found three people with gunshot injuries at an apartment complex near Pleasant and Fedora avenues. A 30 year old man and a 34 year old woman were struck and taken to Community Regional Medical Center where both were listed in stable condition. A 35 year old man, identified as Mariano Cabrera, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and was transported to the same hospital where he later died.

Homicide detectives said Cabrera and the 30 year old man were confronted by an unknown male suspect inside the complex who fired several rounds striking both men. The 34 year old woman was unrelated to the other victims and was unintentionally struck by gunfire while inside the complex.

Detectives have been canvassing the apartment complex and surrounding neighborhood for witnesses and surveillance video as part of an ongoing homicide investigation.
