Goochland Branch Library Hosts Free LEGO Building Event for Kids March 21
Kids ages 5–12 built LEGO creations and tackled design challenges at Goochland Branch Library's free LEGO Legion event Saturday morning.

Dozens of young builders gathered at the Goochland Branch Library on Saturday morning for The LEGO Legion, a free hour of hands-on construction and design challenges aimed at children ages 5 through 12. The session ran from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the Friends of Goochland Library providing light refreshments.
The program invited kids to make their own LEGO creations and then push their skills further using Challenge Creation Cards, structured prompts designed to test design thinking within the brick-building format. The library's description of the event captures its spirit: "Do you love building with LEGO? Want to stretch your imagination brick by brick? Join us at the Goochland Branch as we make our own amazing creations each month."
Saturday's session was the March installment of a recurring monthly series running through at least April. The Pamunkey Regional Library's official calendar lists additional LEGO Legion dates on April 18, all at the same 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. time slot. A community calendar also showed an earlier date of January 17, though that session does not appear in the library's own LibCal listing.
The LEGO Legion is one piece of a busy stretch of programming at the Goochland Branch this month. Earlier in March, the branch hosted Dr. Seuss Day on March 7 for children ages 3 and up, and a Youth Art Month reception on March 12 where families viewed artwork from Goochland County Schools students alongside a short live performance. Radiant Rainbow Crafts for ages 2 through 12 took place March 19, just two days before the LEGO event. Still ahead on the branch calendar is Sticker Art on March 28 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for teens ages 10 through 18, and the adult Mystery Book Club meets again on March 24 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Families with questions about upcoming LEGO Legion dates or who need accessibility accommodations can contact the branch by email at ask@pamunkeylibrary.org or by phone at (804) 556-4774.
