Goochland Library Launches Weekly Adult Game Days Every Thursday This Spring

The Pamunkey Regional Library's Goochland Branch held its first Adult Game Days session last Thursday, opening a ten-week run of free midday gaming that will carry the community through the final week of May.

Adults 18 and older are invited to the branch every Thursday from noon to 3 p.m. through May 28, with the library supplying a variety of board and card games. Participants can also bring their own favorites. No special equipment or prior experience is required.

The Thursday noon slot targets a slice of Goochland's population that often falls outside typical after-work programming: retirees with open weekday afternoons, adults coming off overnight shifts who are free by midday, and remote workers seeking structured, in-person socializing without leaving the county. Scheduling the program for a full ten consecutive weeks, rather than as a standalone event, reflects the Pamunkey Regional Library system's expectation of consistent interest and its intent to build the program into a seasonal routine.

The Goochland Branch meeting room, which also hosts other family- and adult-focused programming throughout March and April, serves as the gathering space for each session. Attending a game day puts first-time visitors in the same building as those broader library resources, from digital services to community meeting space.
