Guilford Endoscopy Center Earns High-Performing Designation for Colonoscopy Procedures
Guilford Endoscopy Center in Greensboro landed a coveted "High Performing" rating from U.S. News — only 249 of 2,029 colonoscopy centers nationwide made the cut.

Guilford Endoscopy Center in Greensboro secured a "High Performing" designation for colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures in the U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers rankings, published March 16-17, placing the Triad facility among fewer than 15% of evaluated centers to earn that distinction nationally.
U.S. News and its data partner CareJourney rated more than 4,000 surgery centers across four specialty areas: gastroenterology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and urology. Within the colonoscopy and endoscopy category specifically, 2,029 centers were evaluated and only 249 received high-performing recognition. Ratings drew on three years of Medicare data and measured patient safety, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes, with specific factors including number of procedures performed, length of stay, complications, unplanned emergency room visits, and unplanned hospital admissions.
Guilford Endoscopy Center operates as an AMSURG-affiliated facility, a network that claimed 64 of its centers earned U.S. News recognition in the 2026 rankings. Jeff Snodgrass, President and CEO of AMSURG, credited the results to frontline staff. "Providing high-quality patient care is a core commitment at every AMSURG center," Snodgrass said. "Having 64 of our centers recognized by U.S. News & World Report is a testament to the expertise and compassion of our teams across the country. This achievement directly reflects our unwavering dedication to excellence."
The Greensboro center is not the only Triad-region endoscopy facility to have drawn national notice in recent years. Gastroenterology Associates Endoscopy Center in Hickory received a comparable designation in 2024, ranking among the top 12 of 84 North Carolina centers evaluated for colonoscopy and endoscopy with a maximum three-out-of-three score. Dr. Caroll Koscheski of Gastroenterology Associates described that recognition as a reflection of day-to-day care standards. "We are extremely proud of our entire team for their work in achieving this national recognition," Koscheski said. "We are dedicated to our mission of providing excellent care of the highest standards and quality to all our patients."
