High Point to host 2026 national United States Pageant competition

High Point Theatre will host America’s United States Pageant’s 2026 national competition July 23-25 at 220 E. Commerce Ave., a three-day run that will bring contestants from across the country into the city’s hotel, restaurant and entertainment market. FOX8 WGHP said this will be the first year High Point has hosted the pageant.

The schedule is built to keep visitors in town. The pageant website lists July 23 as the Welcome Gala, July 24-25 for the Little Miss division, and July 25 at 5:00 p.m. for the Pageant Finale for Jr. Miss, Teen and Miss. That kind of calendar matters for High Point because it spreads traffic across multiple days, rather than concentrating spending into a single evening.

For hotels and nearby businesses, the event creates the kind of short-term demand that can fill rooms, move diners through restaurants and put pressure on transportation and parking around the theatre. JH Adams Inn and Cristina Gray’s Restaurant are among the local hospitality names tied to the city’s event landscape, and Visit High Point promotes attractions, restaurants, places to stay, arts and culture and sports facilities as part of the city’s tourism base. In practical terms, the pageant gives those businesses another reason to capture visitors who are already in town and looking for something to do before and after the stage competition.

The timing also places the national pageant within a broader stretch of pageant-related activity in High Point. The Miss North Carolina Organization has scheduled its 2026 state competition week at High Point Theatre from June 22-27, with a June 22 Welcome to High Point Celebration at Stock + Grain Assembly from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Two major pageant events in the same summer reinforce High Point’s pitch as a city that can handle repeat visitor traffic tied to live productions, lodging and dining.

America’s United States Pageant, founded in 2020, markets itself around “Passionate, Personable, Pivotal, Positive, Powerful,” and says its program includes scholarship and cash prizes. For High Point, that branding is less about entertainment alone than about exposure: every contestant, family member, judge and organizer who comes through Guilford County adds to the city’s visibility as a host for national-scale events in a market that already leans on manufacturing, design and hospitality.
