The second annual Kass Circle Sidewalk Festival drew Spring Hill residents to the Help Center parking lot behind Spring Hill Plaza at 1396 Kass Circle on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. People Helping People hosted the free, family-friendly event aimed at connecting neighbors with practical services and local vendors.

Organizers described the festival as a chance for residents to “enjoy a lively outdoor atmosphere while connecting with local businesses and valuable community resources.” The event emphasized mental health, physical health, family support and education, offering on-site services rather than referral-only information.

The festival was spearheaded by the YMCA’s Togetherhood program in conjunction with Hernando County Housing & Supportive Services, the Kass Circle Community Redevelopment Agency and People Helping People. Hernando County listed Hernando County Housing & Supportive Services as a point of contact at (352) 540-4338, and the county’s main line at (352) 754-4000.

On the ground, attendees could browse local shops and meet a range of vendors and people-centric groups. Named participants included Salvation Army, ATA Career Education, Vincent House Hernando and Flash Wellness. ATA offered hands-on medical training and instruction, Flash Wellness provided nurse practitioner-led care, and Vincent House Hernando assisted with mental-health needs. Music, giveaways throughout the day and food, including Kona shaved ice and other refreshments, rounded out the outdoor activities.

Gerry Whitted of the Togetherhood Advisory Council framed the program’s mission and local expansion: “Togetherhood is the only program in the YMCA that does not solicit donations or memberships. Our primary cause is social responsibility. It is a signature program of the way – to the community first and foremost. … We have grown exponentially. … We found out there was a need in the community. We have a block party in South Brooksville, where there is a great need. Then, I found out there was a need in Kass Circle, so we [put] on something that is going to benefit the entire Hernando County,” said Whitted.

County officials and event organizers encouraged residents who need follow-up information to contact Hernando County Housing & Supportive Services at (352) 540-4338. The festival, now in its second year, was billed as a community-focused effort to link Spring Hill neighbors directly with health, education and family-support resources.
