Injury crash blocks northbound traffic on Commercial Way in Hernando County
Northbound Commercial Way was blocked at Woodland Waters Blvd, pinching a corridor lined with Walmart, Publix, Walgreens and Weeki Wachee Village.

Northbound Commercial Way was blocked at Woodland Waters Blvd after a crash, cutting through a corridor that carries shoppers past Walmart at 1485 Commercial Way, Weeki Wachee Village at 6288 Commercial Way, Publix at The Shoppes at Glen Lakes at 9595 Commercial Way and Walgreens at 9819 Commercial Way.
Florida Highway Patrol’s live traffic report tracked the incident, and the state says its crash map is refreshed every five minutes. Florida also says incidents inside city limits may not appear immediately, and full crash reports can take up to 10 days to become available because they are confidential except for involved parties and other statutory exceptions. Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is the official custodian of those crash reports and statewide crash data.
Commercial Way keeps showing up in Hernando County Sheriff's Office traffic logs, including crashes at County Line Road and Glen Lakes Boulevard. In similar Commercial Way blockage alerts, drivers have been told to expect delays until the roadway cleared, usually about 30 to 45 minutes, a reminder that even a single wreck can spill onto the corridor’s other cross streets and reroute local traffic.
The detour pressure matters because nearby campuses sit in the same travel zone, including Winding Waters K-8 at 12240 Vespa Way and Weeki Wachee High School at 12150 Vespa Way. On a road that already links Brooksville and Weeki Wachee to retail stops and school traffic, a northbound closure at Woodland Waters Blvd can ripple well beyond the crash scene.
