Spring Hill Woman Killed in Early Morning Crash on U.S. 19
Two Spring Hill women driving matching Volkswagen Jettas collided on U.S. 19 at 3:25 a.m.; one died at the scene after a U-turn put her car in the northbound lane.

A 45-year-old Spring Hill woman was killed and a 48-year-old Spring Hill woman was seriously injured early Tuesday when their two Volkswagen Jettas collided at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Clark Street, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The crash occurred at approximately 3:25 a.m. on March 10.
According to FHP troopers, the 48-year-old was driving southbound on U.S. 19 when she attempted a U-turn at Clark Street. As she pulled into the northbound lanes, her Jetta entered the direct path of the second Jetta, driven by the 45-year-old, who was traveling north. The northbound vehicle struck the turning car.
Emergency responders pronounced the 45-year-old dead at the scene. Paramedics treated the 48-year-old at the crash site before transporting her to a nearby hospital for further medical care. The Florida Highway Patrol has not released the names of either driver.

Traffic investigators remained on scene through the morning to document the wreckage and clear the intersection. The crash remains under investigation by FHP. The intersection sits along U.S. 19 in Pasco County, a stretch of road that runs through the Spring Hill area and carries heavy traffic at all hours.
No charges or citations have been announced, and FHP has not indicated whether speed, impairment, or other contributing factors are part of the ongoing investigation.
