Berlin Amish Resident Vernon N. Miller, 94, Dies After Declining Health
Vernon N. Miller, 94, of Berlin died March 16 after declining health; funeral is Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Joe Kramer residence in Sugarcreek.

Vernon N. Miller, 94, a lifelong Old Order Amish Church member who split his years between Sugarcreek and Berlin, died at his Berlin residence on Monday, March 16, 2026, after a period of declining health.
Born June 3, 1931, to the late Noah D. and Elizabeth (Stutzman) Miller, Vernon married Elva J. Miller on November 24, 1960. The two were together for more than 65 years, and Elva survives him. Their son, Mark (Rita) Miller, also of Berlin, survives as well.
Vernon worked at Alsco and at Ohio Whey Products in Sugarcreek during his working years. Outside of his employment, he put those hours toward something more personal: sewing machine and bicycle repair, offered in his spare time. He was an avid cyclist himself and frequently went on lengthy bike trips.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 19, at 9:00 AM at the Joe Kramer residence, 302 Mill Street NW, Sugarcreek, with Bishop Dwight Miller officiating. Burial follows at Cherry Ridge Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the Joe Kramer residence after 10 AM today, Wednesday.
The family's published notice extended a specific acknowledgment: "A special thank you to the caregivers who assisted with Vernon's care and to Crossroads Hospice for your assistance."

In addition to his wife and son, Vernon is survived by sister-in-law Laura (late Harry) Miller of Sugarcreek, and Elva's brothers and sisters: Andy (late Verna) Miller, Lester (Mary) Miller, and Amos (late Edna) Miller, all of Millersburg; Jake Miller of Winesburg; Nettie (Jonas) Miller of Walnut Creek; and Esther (Jerry) Mast of Millersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by siblings Harry Miller, Melvin (Clara) Miller, Joe Miller, Mary Ann Miller, and Susie (Robert) Miller.
Arrangements are handled by Miller Funeral Care of Walnut Creek, reached at 330-893-CARE.
