Farm at Walnut Creek Hosts Easter Adventure with Helicopter Egg Drops April 11

Seven helicopter Easter egg drops, each launching at the top of the hour from 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., are the centerpiece of Easter Adventure at The Farm at Walnut Creek this Saturday, April 11. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Gates open before the first drop, and because the aerial egg releases are weather-dependent, families should check the Farm's website or social channels before heading out.

Beyond the egg drops, the day's lineup includes a Kid's Corn Box, a Coloring Contest, a Scavenger Hunt, a Guess the Jelly Bean game, and an Easter photo opportunity with rabbits and bunnies. Food is available for purchase throughout the event.

Admission is purchased at the gate only; no advance ticketing is offered. Standard pricing applies: adults $15, children ages 3 to 12 $12, seniors $12, and groups of 15 or more $11. A separate wagon ride ticket costs adults $21, children and seniors $16, and groups $15 per person. Feed buckets for animal encounters run an additional $3.00 for a 64-ounce bucket. The Farm recommends budgeting two to three hours at minimum; the drive-through and wagon rides each take approximately 45 minutes on their own.

The Farm at Walnut Creek hosts more than 500 animals representing species from six of the world's seven continents, including giraffes, camels, zebras, kangaroos, buffalo, llamas, deer, elk, and lemurs. Visitors can tour the grounds by horse-drawn wagon guided by experienced Amish drivers, or take the self-guided drive-through in their own vehicle. A walk-through area, petting zoo, non-electric Amish farmhouses with seasonal demonstrations, playgrounds, and picnic areas are also part of a standard visit.

The Farm has operated for more than 15 years at 4147 County Road 114, just outside Walnut Creek with a Sugarcreek mailing address. Together with its sister facility, Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville, North Carolina, which has been open more than 30 years, the two parks have collectively hosted over 10 million visitors and facilitated more than 100 million individual animal encounters. Easter Adventure is one of the Farm's signature annual events, alongside the Fall Festival held Fridays and Saturdays each October and Journey to Bethlehem on the first Saturday in December, a live-nativity drive-through that draws several hundred volunteers from local businesses and churches each year.

The timing matters for the broader county economy. Holmes County attracts roughly 4 million tourists annually, carrying a direct economic impact estimated at $154 million as of 2012 data, and ranked as Ohio's second most popular tourist destination in 2017. Easter Adventure opens the Farm's April-through-October season, Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at a moment when spring weekend traffic across Amish Country in the Berlin, Walnut Creek, and Sugarcreek corridor is just beginning to build.
