Holmes County Library Unveils December Programs for All Ages

The Holmes County District Public Library launched a robust slate of December programs serving children, teens and adults, with events ranging from craft sessions to book club meetings and family New Year celebrations. Adults have programming options as well. The Adult Book Club will meet Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Holmes Central Library to discuss The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife by Anna Johnston. Copies of the book are available at the Holmes Central Library. For readers seeking supported practice, Paws to Read returns Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to noon in the children s department, where children can read to therapy dogs from Caring Therapy Canines.

Looking ahead, the library will operate a Winter Reading Program for kids, teens and adults from Jan. 5 through Feb. 28. Participants may track reading for a chance to win prizes, and registration opens Monday Dec. 29. Winter Break Fun at the Holmes Central Library runs Dec. 29 through Dec. 31 and Jan. 2 through Jan. 3 with art activities, board games and kinetic sand play for families. The month concludes with a Noon Year s Eve Party Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. at the Holmes Central Library, where families can join activities, games, crafts and a balloon drop when the clock strikes noon.

These programs reinforce the library s role as a civic hub, offering educational support and supervised activities that ease holiday scheduling pressures for families and promote early literacy and social skills.
