Love INC seeks donations for Millersburg back-to-school bash

Love INC of Greater Holmes County is asking neighbors to help stock backpacks before the new school year begins, with its annual Back to School Bash set to bring school supplies and family support together under one roof in Millersburg. The event is meant to ease a costly stretch for Holmes County households by making it simpler to find the items children actually need.

The bash will run Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Love INC, 1291 Massillon Rd., Millersburg, OH 44654. Love INC says school supply lists will be available for all local districts, allowing donors and families to match requests more closely with what students need in each part of the county.

That local focus is part of why the event has become a familiar back-to-school stop for area families. Love INC describes the bash as serving Holmes County students and helping make back-to-school more affordable, a practical lift at a time when notebooks, folders, pencils, shoes and other seasonal costs can strain family budgets.

The organization’s earlier outreach suggests how much community support the bash can draw. In 2021, Love INC said 40 volunteers from 17 different churches helped distribute supplies to about 90 families. A 2022 post showed the effort still depended on donations and hands-on help, with the organization seeking school supplies, cash donations and volunteers ahead of that year’s bash.

East Holmes schools have also helped spread the word to families, reflecting the countywide reach of the effort and the connection between local churches, volunteers and school communities.
