Millersburg’s new amphitheater is set to become a regular summer stop, with five Saturday concerts scheduled from June 6 through Oct. 3 at the Timothy Baker Amphitheater on Glen Drive. The concerts will run from 6 to 8 p.m., giving the village a predictable evening program that could keep weekends active well past the usual festival dates.

The Holmes County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau listing says the series will feature live music, local food trucks and a welcoming community atmosphere at 3102 Glen Drive in Millersburg. That matters for more than entertainment. A monthly concert rhythm gives families, retirees and visitors a reason to stay in town, and it creates a built-in audience for nearby businesses in and around Downtown Millersburg as people arrive early, eat nearby and linger after the music ends.

The amphitheater sits within Deer Run Park, which village parks information places at 4102 Glen Drive and describes as a broader recreation hub. The complex includes a dog park, ball fields, a walking path, adult exercise equipment, two pavilions, basketball courts, a skate park, a disc golf course and a fenced children’s play area. Parks are open daylight to dusk, with the ball fields open until 11 p.m., making the amphitheater part of an already active public space rather than a stand-alone stage.

The project has been years in the making. Village council minutes from April 25, 2022, show that Brenna Barbey first presented the amphitheater as a Boy Scout project meant to host outdoor music and other events at Deer Run Park. By Sept. 12, 2022, village records showed the effort had raised $24,505 through donations and brick sales, and Bill Baker had given $15,000 for naming rights, bringing early fundraising to $39,505 in just two months. Council described the design as a six-tiered amphitheater, 64 feet wide and 40 feet high, built into an existing hillside at Deer Run Park.

Work continued into late 2023, when village records showed electrical service still being installed and turf quotes being reviewed for the amphitheater tiers, including an option with a 20-year warranty. The venue was also built into Millersburg’s bicentennial closing events on June 8, 2025, underscoring its role as a civic gathering place as well as an entertainment space.

For Holmes County, the first season will test whether the amphitheater can turn a long-planned capital project into a dependable summer habit. If attendance follows the calendar, Deer Run Park could become one of Millersburg’s strongest public assets.
