Millersburg Craft Show Brings Handmade Holiday Goods to Community
The Millersburg Lions Club annual Christmas craft show took place Saturday, November 29, filling St. Peter Catholic Church with more than three dozen vendors, homemade gifts, and community activity. The event raised funds for local Lions Club programs while giving residents an opportunity to shop local, support artisans, and enjoy a seasonal community gathering.

The Millersburg Lions Club hosted its annual Christmas craft show Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 379 S. Crawford St., drawing shoppers through a marketplace of handmade decorations, gifts, and baked goods. The free event ran in the morning and early afternoon and featured closely spaced vendor tables, seasonal music, and the smells of cinnamon, pine, and fresh baked cookies.
Organizers reported between 35 and 40 vendors offering a broad range of handmade items. Event coorganizer Sue Dye described the variety and local appeal, saying, “We’ll have between 35 and 40 vendors with plenty of variety and a lot of neat Christmas gifts,” Dye said. “I think part of the allure of this is that people enjoy and appreciate handmade items.”
Items on display included ornaments, wreaths, knitted scarves, candles, soaps, pottery, toys, wall hangings, cookies, wooden items, lap throws, knitted hats and gloves, candies, jewelry, and other holiday themed crafts. Crafters travelled from Walnut Creek, Dalton, Ashland, Killbuck, Millersburg, Shreve, and other area towns, creating a regional draw for shoppers seeking gifts and decorations not typically found in retail outlets.

Admission was free, and a lunch stand operated by the St. Peter Catholic Women’s Guild provided on site food. Door prizes were announced throughout the event, and all proceeds were directed to the Millersburg Lions Club. Those proceeds support local services including donations of eyeglasses and hearing aids, and assistance for people with special needs.
For residents, the show offered more than holiday shopping. It functioned as a small scale economic engine for area artisans, a fundraising mechanism for local social services, and a civic event that brings people into the church and downtown Millersburg. The combination of community fundraising and support for local makers reinforces the Lions Club role in Holmes County civic life while giving voters and volunteers tangible results to assess when weighing local nonprofit impact.
