Camano Island House Fire Burns Over Three Hours, Residents Escape Safely

The garage on a Bonnie Lane home was fully engulfed and flames had already reached the attached residence and a nearby shed by the time Camano Island Fire and Rescue arrived on scene. It took more than three hours to bring the blaze under control.

The fire's intensity prompted mutual aid from multiple fire agencies, drawing additional equipment and personnel to the Camano Island property. The multiagency response generated road delays in the surrounding area as units moved in and coordinated on scene. Radio traffic on scanner channels ran nearly constant throughout the operation, a signal of how sustained and complex the effort had become across responding departments.

Despite the fire spreading through three connected structures, all occupants of the Bonnie Lane home escaped. Camano Island Fire and Rescue confirmed every resident evacuated safely and no one was injured.

The blaze appeared to have started in the garage before advancing through the attached home and into the outbuilding, though the exact sequence and cause have not been officially determined. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
