Alice's Under the Moon Market returned to its expanded site at 901 N Johnson along Highway 281 on Saturday, filling a 5-acre open-air venue with handcrafted goods, local food, and live music beginning at 5 p.m.

The April 4 edition is part of a recurring first-Saturday series that has built consistent turnout across downtown Alice. Organizer Stacey runs the market with a strict vendor policy: no multi-level marketing representatives, no resellers. Every stall must carry goods the vendor made themselves. Because the site has no electrical hookups, vendors arrive self-sufficient, supplying their own tables, chairs, and battery-powered or rechargeable lighting, which gives the evening market its after-dark character.

The move to the Highway 281 site gave the market room it previously lacked. Organizers described the new location as bigger and better, with the open acreage allowing more vendor stalls and easier circulation for shoppers.

The Alice Hub City Chamber of Commerce placed the market on its April events calendar alongside grand openings, board meetings, and networking sessions in the first week of the month. That cluster of programming reflects a broader effort to keep foot traffic in downtown Alice past normal business hours and give small vendors a low-cost alternative to a permanent storefront.

The Under the Moon Market already has its next two dates locked in: May 2 and June 6. Vendors interested in securing a stall or attendees with questions about parking and check-in procedures can reach Stacey at 361-877-4786.
