Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Names Tina Marie Galicinao, Angeelee Rolland Yearly Honorees
Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i honored Tina Marie Galicinao as Employee of the Year and Angeelee Rolland as Manager of the Year at its Poipu annual gala; the resort touts a prize package for exemplary staff.

Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort & Spa in Poipu named Tina Marie Galicinao Employee of the Year and Angeelee Rolland Manager of the Year during the resort’s annual awards gala, the hotel said in its releases and local coverage. The recognition highlights front-line and managerial leadership at the 1571 Poipu Road property, a hospitality employer listed with 501-1,000 staff and founded in 1991.
Tina Marie Galicinao brings a track record of internal honors to the award. KauaiNow reports Galicinao has received multiple Nā Pua Hanohano Paʻa Awards, which recognize Employees of the Month at Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i, and that she is a previous Employee of the Year. The resort announcement quoted Galicinao: “Being named Employee of the Year is an incredible honor. This recognition reflects the support, trust and encouragement of my leaders and front desk team, and it reinforces the importance of caring for our guests and one another with respect and integrity.” KauaiNow also notes Galicinao’s compassion is driven in part by her dedication to supporting her brother, who has Down syndrome.
Angeelee Rolland was identified as Manager of the Year and is listed in the hotel’s staff directory as a food and beverage manager. KauaiNow says Rolland oversees Ilima Terrace, in-room dining and Poʻipū Bay beverage cart operations and that she joined Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i about one year ago. The profile highlights Rolland’s prior hospitality experience spanning casino, fine dining and high-volume restaurant environments and describes her as a hands-on, team-focused leader committed to excellence.
The Garden Island’s coverage of the resort’s annual awards party described a wider slate of recognitions presented at the Poipu gala. TGI reported the event celebrated 2024 and looked ahead to 2025 and named Kristi Dickinson and Yolanda “Yoyo” Mangayayam as recipients of “Exceptional” awards, with General Manager Michael Murphy saying, “We are so thrilled to honor Yoyo and Kristi for their exceptional work, their positivity and can-do attitude. They both truly set a great example.” TGI also named the Purchasing Team as Department of the Year, noting the team “tirelessly keeps every department in the resort well-stocked with all they need to do their jobs, working with local purveyors to large producers.”

A Grand Hyatt Kauai release quoted in The Garden Island laid out a prize package the resort says exemplary employees receive: “These exemplary employees receive an additional week of paid vacation, six additional complimentary nights at any Hyatt in Canada or the U.S., airfare for two, a $250 dining credit, and $500 spending money.” The resort did not attach dollar values to airfare or hotel nights in the provided text.
Local labor recognition also intersected with the hotel’s profile. ILWU Local 142 reported that Unit 3511 - Grand Hyatt Kauai earned Inspirational Leader of the Year honors for Rhonda Morris and Tyson Moises at a union banquet, a separate recognition from the resort’s internal awards. Together, the resort awards, the prize package and union acknowledgments underscore Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i’s role as a major employer in Poipu as it recognizes service, leadership and community-oriented work.
