Kauai Society of Artists Spring Show Opens at Kukui Grove Center
Voting is still open at KSA's Spring Show in Kukui Grove Center, where $1 buys a ballot for the People's Choice Award to be announced March 27.

The Kauai Society of Artists Spring Show 2026 opened March 7 at the KSA gallery inside Kukui Grove Center in Līhuʻe, and public voting for the People's Choice Award remains open with the winner to be revealed at a late-March reception.
The show's structure sets it apart from most KSA exhibitions. Rather than holding the artists' reception at the opening, the organization schedules it near the close of the run, giving the public time to weigh in first. "This is one of the unique features of the Spring Show," said KSA artist Mona Rinaldo, who was gallery sitting during the show's run. "Traditionally, we have a reception at the start of a show. But for the Spring Show, our artists' reception is on March 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. to allow people to vote for their favorite piece. The winner of the People's Choice Award will be named at the reception, and March 28 is the pickup date for this show."
Votes cost a dollar each and can be cast any time the gallery is open. The People's Choice results will be announced at the March 27 reception, held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the KSA gallery.
Rinaldo is herself among this show's recognized artists. Show judge Penny Nichols selected five awards total, and Rinaldo earned an Honorable Mention for her piece "Gratitude," with the award sponsored by Carol Meckling.

On the gallery floor on Saturday, March 14, artist Kathryn Oxman was photographed adjusting the silk on her work "Ho'ola'a Banyan Tree." Oxman noted that the silk came from a prominent Japanese designer who was featured during a recent Schaefer Portrait Challenge, adding an unexpected international thread to a show rooted in Kauai's artistic community.
Artwork pickup is scheduled for March 28, the day after the reception closes out the Spring Show's run.
