Kaua‘i teen found safe after brief missing-person alert in Līhue

Kaua‘i police said 17-year-old Zoee Fabiana was located and was in good health after a brief missing-person alert that began early May 9 and ended that evening.

The initial county notice went out at 8:04 a.m. HST after Fabiana was reported last seen at Līhue Airport. Police said she was wearing a black tank top and black pants. The alert also gave a description to help residents identify her quickly if she was spotted: 5 feet 5 inches tall, about 106 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

By 9:20 p.m. the same day, the County of Kaua‘i updated the public that Fabiana had been found. The closing notice said she was in good health and thanked the public for vigilance and assistance.

The short timeline reflects how Kaua‘i police handle time-sensitive missing-person cases, especially when a minor is involved. The department says community involvement plays a vital role in locating missing people, and it asks residents to help by reporting sightings or other information as quickly as possible.
