La Paz County Posts Planning, Zoning, and Board of Adjustment Agendas for Review
La Paz County posted a draft Planning & Zoning agenda for March 9, 2026, along with a Board of Adjustment notice, opening both items to public review.

La Paz County's Public Notices and Document Center posted new agendas for the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment ahead of their March 2026 proceedings, giving the public an advance window to review what land-use matters were under consideration.
The postings included a document labeled "DRAFT MAR 9, 2026 PZ AGENDA," signaling that the Planning & Zoning Commission had scheduled business for early March. The commission carries the responsibility of making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on rezoning applications, amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, master plans, and comprehensive plans, making its agendas a direct preview of decisions that can reshape how land across the county is used and developed.
A separate Board of Adjustment posting also appeared in the county's public notices. That board interprets the zoning ordinance and use permits and holds the authority to grant variances, meaning property owners seeking relief from specific zoning requirements have their cases heard there before any change takes effect.
Current agendas and minutes for all boards and commissions are viewable through the county's Agenda Center, while previous years' materials can be found in the Document Center. Both repositories are accessible through lapaz.gov.
The public notice process carries legal weight in Arizona. Planning and Zoning Commission meetings are held open to the public, and at those hearings the Board of Supervisors considers reports and recommendations from the Planning and Zoning Commission and listens to public input from all concerned parties. Under state law, an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the members of the board is required in order to approve a request.
