Oxford Activity Centers to Require Digital Check-In for All Visitors in 2026
Starting March 30, every visitor to Oxford's two activity centers must scan in digitally — including children.

Both of Oxford's publicly operated activity centers will require all visitors to complete a digital check-in beginning March 30, a shift the Oxford Park Commission announced this week that affects everyone who walks through the doors, children included.
The new system covers the Oxford Activity Center and the Ulysses "Coach" Howell Activity Center, and relies on QR codes and temporary access codes to verify and log entry. No visitor will be permitted to proceed past the entrance without first signing in through the digital platform.
The Oxford Park Commission announced the policy change on March 21, giving patrons of both facilities just over a week to prepare before the March 30 launch date. The requirement applies universally, with no exemptions noted for youth participants, regular members, or casual drop-ins.
The use of QR codes suggests the system is designed for speed at busy entry points, while temporary access codes offer an alternative for visitors who may not have a smartphone readily available. The dual-format approach mirrors check-in systems increasingly common at publicly managed recreation facilities across the country, though the specific software or vendor behind Oxford's implementation was not detailed in the commission's announcement.

The Ulysses "Coach" Howell Activity Center, named for a figure significant to Oxford's community history, serves a distinct part of the city's park infrastructure alongside the main Oxford Activity Center. Both facilities fall under the Oxford Park Commission's jurisdiction, making the policy uniform across OPC-managed sites.
Anyone planning to visit either location after March 30 should expect to sign in before accessing the facility.
