Oxford Sergeant Justin Mitchell Earns FBI-LEEDA National Leadership Trilogy

Oxford Police Sgt. Justin Mitchell has completed the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Program, a nationally recognized three-course leadership series for law-enforcement supervisors and executives, the department announced March 23.

The Trilogy develops leadership skills through three sequential courses: the Supervisor Leadership Institute, the Command Leadership Institute, and the Executive Leadership Institute. Together, the three disciplines comprise 120 hours of accredited training. The Oxford Police Department called the completion a significant professional milestone and praised Mitchell for his dedication to leadership and continued growth.

FBI-LEEDA is dedicated to advancing law enforcement leadership through premier training, education, and networking, with the goal of enhancing community quality of life by equipping members with cutting-edge leadership skills and management practices. The program centers on building ethical, effective leaders by strengthening skills in communication, decision-making, accountability, and servant leadership, with Oxford police noting that those tools directly affect the quality of service officers provide to the community each day.

Participants are not required to complete the three courses in a specific order. A benefit of earning the Trilogy distinction is FBI-LEEDA's relationship with several colleges and universities, through which graduates can earn college credit by completing the three courses.

The department also credited the City of Oxford for its continued investment in the police department and its personnel, emphasizing that supporting continuing education of this kind strengthens local public safety leadership. The department highlighted its broader commitment to professional growth and community service through programs like FBI-LEEDA.
