Inka Maria Jumisko, 29, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is wanted on a bench warrant after failing to appear April 1 for a scheduled review hearing in her Las Animas County vehicular homicide case, a charge stemming from a fatal crash on southbound Interstate 25 that killed a juvenile passenger nearly a year ago.

Las Animas County courts formally recorded the failure-to-appear and issued the warrant following the missed Wednesday hearing. A bench warrant is a standing court order authorizing any law enforcement officer, in any jurisdiction, to take the named person into custody on contact. It carries no expiration date and crosses state lines, meaning officers in New Mexico or elsewhere can arrest Jumisko and arrange transport back to Colorado.

Jumisko faces a class 3 felony charge of vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Trinidad police arrested her May 13, 2025, after a single-vehicle RV crash just after midnight on southbound I-25 near milepost 12 south of Trinidad. A juvenile passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. She was booked at the Las Animas County Detention Center on a $45,000 cash or surety bond and appeared for a preliminary hearing July 28, 2025, at the Las Animas County Courthouse before the case entered a review period.

With the warrant now active, law enforcement may make contact attempts in Albuquerque, where Jumisko was last known to reside. Any arrest return, new hearing date, or plea filing will appear in the Colorado Judicial Branch online docket. The Las Animas County Combined Court is located at 200 E. First Street, Room 304, in Trinidad.

For the juvenile's family, the failure to appear adds another delay to a case already stretching into its second calendar year. A class 3 felony vehicular homicide conviction in Colorado carries a potential sentence of 4 to 12 years in prison.
