Trinidad Police Report Shows Arrests, Property Damage, Increased Patrols
Trinidad police logged a range of incidents on November 26, 2025, including an assault with one arrest, criminal mischief to vehicle tires, and a two vehicle accident with no injuries. The blotter also recorded extra patrols across neighborhoods, traffic enforcement on I 25, welfare checks, and animal control responses, information that matters for local safety and holiday travel.

On November 26, 2025 Trinidad law enforcement responded to a broad mix of calls that underscore both routine community care and isolated public safety concerns. The most significant enforcement action was an assault call at 341 N Commercial Street that resulted in one arrest and no reported injuries. Officers also documented criminal mischief at 723 W Baca where vehicle tires were damaged, a type of property crime that can leave residents feeling vulnerable during the holiday period.
Traffic enforcement featured prominently. Several traffic stops produced written warnings and citations, including enforcement on I 25 at mile posts 17.5 northbound and 12 northbound, and citations issued in residential intersections at Baca and Alabama and the 600 block of Prospect. A two vehicle accident at the Safeway parking area was reported with no injuries, though such crashes can disrupt local commerce and strain emergency response during busy shopping days.
Routine patrols and preventative work were visible throughout the day. Dispatch logs show extra patrols in the Boulevard, Heights, downtown and exit 18 areas as well as targeted business and residential checks. Trespassing calls led to a citation at 201 Americana Road while another trespassing report at 2nd and Ash had left the scene before officers arrived. Animal control returned a loose dog to its owner at 8th and Baltimore and transported another animal to the landfill from 837 Robinson, illustrating the department role in public health as well as safety.
Other entries included a reported fraud at 100 E Main, a VIN inspection at 160 E 1st Street, a found cash box turned over at 216 Broom, a civil stand by at 1311 Garfield, and several welfare checks that ended with subjects safe or advised. A medical call at 731 E Main is noted, with details protected by HIPAA.
The Trinidad Police Department handles records in line with C.R.S. 24 72 302 2 and C.R.S. 24 72 204 VII and will not release personally identifiable information for juveniles, sexual assaults, or medical calls. For residents this blotter offers a snapshot of local risks and the department efforts to maintain safety, enforce traffic laws, and respond to community needs as the county moves into the winter season.
