A woman arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle on the 2900 block of N Washington St. gave officers a false name, Helena police reported, one of the more notable incidents from a busy stretch of calls logged in the city.

Officers recovered the stolen vehicle at 3:23 p.m. on March 4 after the driver was involved in a crash. The 27-year-old woman was arrested for possession of stolen property and held on two outstanding warrants. She was also cited for several traffic crimes connected to the crash.

Less than four hours later, a separate crash near the intersection of Custer Ave. and National Ave. led to a DUI arrest. Officers responding at 7:00 p.m. observed signs of impairment in the driver, a 76-year-old man, who was subsequently arrested for DUI as a first offense and reckless driving.

Between the two crashes, a disorderly male call came in at 6:32 p.m. near the 10 block of N Last Chance Gulch. A 52-year-old man was cited and released for disorderly conduct at the conclusion of that investigation.
