Mountainfilm on Tour Sells Out Helena Screening at The Myrna Loy
The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation's Mountainfilm on Tour screening sold out The Myrna Loy in Helena before the March 11 event even arrived.

The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation brought Mountainfilm on Tour to The Myrna Loy on Wednesday, March 11, and the Helena screening had already sold out according to local reporting in the week before the show. Doors opened at 6 p.m. with films beginning at 7 p.m., and while the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation's event listing noted that tickets would be available at the door if not sold out, advance demand told a different story.
The Helena stop is one of five cities on a BMWF-organized tour circling the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex this March. The program draws from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado, presenting what organizers describe as culturally rich, adventure-packed documentary films exploring themes tied to Mountainfilm's mission of inspiring audiences to create a better world. The full playlist for the tour is available at mountainfilm.org/tour/schedule.
Allison Siems, Operations Director for the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation, connected the films directly to the foundation's work in Montana's backcountry. "These films celebrate adventure, grit, and the power of wild places – things we're lucky enough to witness every summer on our volunteer projects," Siems said. "We hope they leave people inspired to get out there and give back to the wealth of public lands we enjoy in Montana, like the incredible Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex right in our backyard."
Beyond the films, a bucket raffle in the lobby offered outdoor gear, adventure trips, and local goods. Advance tickets were priced at $20, with door tickets listed at $25.
The Myrna Loy, which bills itself as an art gallery and live music venue, has a packed spring calendar following the Mountainfilm event. Upcoming screenings include a Family Movie Night featuring The Goonies on March 13, a special showing of Dark Money on March 31, and the 2026 Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour on April 10. The venue also lists Myrna's Night Out 2026 on April 24, a double bill of Little Kid Flicks and Big Kid Flicks on April 30, and a KnitFlix screening of 10 Things I Hate About You on May 28. The Myrna Loy's programming is supported by BlueCross BlueShield of Montana, the Mellon Foundation, Montana Cultural Trust, Art Works, the National Performance Network, and the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation.
