Highway 6 Sports Launches Independent Online Radio Station After Podbean Ends Live Streams
Bryce Bivins built Highway 6 Sports its own streaming platform after Podbean announced it would end live streams in May, keeping Haxtun Bulldogs coverage alive for Logan County.

Highway 6 Sports has launched its own independent online radio station, replacing Podbean before the platform ends live streaming in May and preserving two years of Haxtun Bulldogs play-by-play and area sports coverage for listeners across Logan County.
Haxtun native Bryce Bivins, who founded and runs the operation, moved quickly after Podbean announced the suspension. The outlet had relied on Podbean since its launch two years ago to deliver live game coverage and sports podcasts to fans of local high school and small-college teams. With that infrastructure disappearing, Bivins built a replacement: a dedicated livestream hub already active ahead of the May cutoff, with upcoming local events already scheduled and details posted on the outlet's site and social channels.
The timing matters for communities where high school athletics serve as a primary weekly gathering point on the northeastern Colorado plains. Parents working agricultural shifts, alumni spread across the region, and anyone who cannot make the drive to a gym or ball field have depended on the Highway 6 Sports stream to follow hometown teams. Losing that coverage would have created a gap with no obvious replacement.
Sustaining the new platform requires infrastructure that Podbean previously handled: web hosting, stream encoding, and broadcast scheduling. To cover those costs, Bivins and his team are building a sponsorship model alongside a modest donation and subscription structure, with local business underwriting intended to keep most programming free or low-cost for listeners.
The approach mirrors the community radio model, funded by the people and businesses it covers rather than dependent on a third-party platform that can change its policies without warning. Pregame shows and live play-by-play, the programming the community has followed for two years, are expected to continue without interruption before Podbean's May deadline arrives.
