Logan County Arts League announces four-night July Jamz lineup for 2026

Logan County families looking for a free downtown night out have a familiar datebook fixture back on the calendar: July Jamz will fill the Logan County Courthouse Square in Sterling on Friday, July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, with music set from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Logan County Arts League says the 2026 run marks the concert series’ 22nd season.

The schedule keeps the event anchored in the heart of downtown, where July Jamz has long helped set the pace of summer in Logan County. LOCAL says the concerts are free to the public and supported by partnerships with local businesses, a model that turns the square into more than a stage. Food vendors, other vendors, a beer garden and a VIP Lounge are part of the setup, bringing together music, dining and late-evening foot traffic in one place.

For Sterling, the series carries more than entertainment value. LOCAL identifies itself as the not-for-profit umbrella agency for the Sterling Creative District, and says its mission is to promote human creativity and culture in Logan County while strengthening rural communities through the arts. The organization traces its roots to the Sterling Arts Council, established on May 11, 1971, and later formally registered with the Colorado Secretary of State on June 22, 1990. That longer history helps explain why July Jamz has become a summer habit rather than a one-off concert series.

The arts league has also used the summer program to build momentum before the first Friday night on the square. LOCAL says Local Jamz Saturdayz serves as a late-June kickoff and features local talent, dance academies, and handmade arts and craft vendors. A 2023 LOCAL archive described July Jamz as a Friday-night July tradition built around regional headliners, with a beer garden and food trucks part of the draw.

The Logan County Chamber of Commerce lists July Jamz among the county’s annual community events, underscoring its place in the seasonal calendar. In a county where shared public gatherings can shape downtown routines as much as they do the arts scene, the concert series remains one of Sterling’s clearest markers of summer.
