Logan County Clerk Seeks Public Comments on 2026 Polling Center Designation
Logan County Courthouse is named the Early Voter Service and Polling Center; Clerk Pamela M. Bacon is seeking written comments on the 2026 polling center designations.

Pamela M. Bacon, Logan County Clerk and Recorder, has formally named the Logan County Courthouse as the Early Voter Service and Polling Center and is asking county residents to submit written comments on polling center designations for the 2026 General Election. The solicitation was published in the Clerk’s Recorder’s Notes column in the Sterling Journal-Advocate on Feb. 18, 2026 at 7:30 AM MST.
“Pursuant to 1-5-102.9 (1)(c)(II) C.R.S., Logan County Clerk and Recorder Pamela M. Bacon is seeking written comments from residents of Logan County regarding the designation of a voter service and polling center for the 2026 General Election,” the Recorder’s Notes notice states, citing Colorado statute C.R.S. 1-5-102.9(1)(c)(II).
The Recorder’s Notes lists the three Sterling facilities named in the notice exactly as printed: “1. Logan County Clerk and Recorder’s Office 315 Main St., Suite 3, Sterling, CO 80751”; “2. Logan County Heritage Center 821 N. Division Ave, Sterling, CO 80751”; and “3. Logan County Extension Office 508 S 10 th Ave, Sterling, CO 80751.” The Logan County Courthouse is named specifically as the county’s Early Voter Service and Polling Center.
“Clerk Bacon has designated the Logan County courthouse as the Early Voter Service and Polling Center for Logan County for the following reasons:” the notice reads, and lists the justification in the Recorder’s Notes as printed: “It is the most centrally located area benefiting all registered voters.”; “Accessibility for persons with disabilities is available.”; “It is currently used as the voting location for early voting, as well as several precincts, which typically serve a significant number of electors.”; “The fact that it is a public building is known and utilized by most electors in the county. [...]”; and “It provides the most cost savings compared to other potential locations.”

The Recorder’s Notes further designates Election Day Voter Service and Polling Centers, naming the Logan County Courthouse, Logan County Heritage Center and Logan County Extension Office and offering the reasons printed in the notice: “They are all centrally located areas benefiting the greatest number of registered electors in the county.”; “Accessibility for persons with disabilities is available.”; “The fact that the buildings are public buildings known and utilized by most electors in the county.”; and “They provide the most cost savings compared to other potential locations.”
The notice reiterates the statutory duty: “C.R.S. 1-5-102.9(1)(c)(II) requires a county clerk and recorder to solicit public comment concerning the location of voter service and polling centers for General Elections.” The published excerpt does not provide a deadline or a method for submitting written comments, and the Recorder’s Notes includes an ellipsis in the early-voter justification indicating omitted text from the capture.
Residents who want to follow up can review Pamela M. Bacon’s Recorder’s Notes in the Sterling Journal-Advocate and may visit or contact the Logan County Clerk and Recorder’s Office at 315 Main St., Suite 3, Sterling, CO 80751 to ask how to submit written comments and confirm any deadlines for the 2026 General Election designation.
