Logan County Seeks Organizations to Staff South Fair Parking and Retain Fees
Local organizations can apply to staff the south parking lot at the Logan County Fairgrounds and keep all parking fees up to $2 per vehicle; proposals are due 5 p.m. April 3, 2026.

Logan County Commissioners and the Logan County Fair Board are inviting local organizations to submit letters of interest to provide parking control attendants for the south parking lot at the Logan County Fairgrounds during the fair scheduled for July 24 – August 2, 2026. Proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. on April 3, 2026, the board’s posting says, and the Fair Board will open proposals at its April 9 meeting with notification after Commissioners approve on April 13, 2026.
The south parking lot has a capacity of approximately 200 parking spaces, and the solicitation sets a fee cap and compensation terms. “Vehicles entering may be charged no more than $2 charge per vehicle and if a vehicle leaves and comes back it must be charged again,” the Fair Board notice states. It also says, “The selected organization will get to keep ALL monies collected as FULL compensation for its services.”
Staffing and safety requirements are specified in the posting. “A minimum of three (3) people must be staffed at all times during these activities. More people are desirable during busy evening events,” the materials say. Personnel working after dark must use flashlights and reflective vest provided by the organization while on site, and one organization will be selected to provide all parking services for the duration of the fair.
The solicitation lists specific high-traffic windows; the excerpt provided includes attendants on site Tuesday, July 28, 5 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, July 29, 5 to 9 p.m. The posting notes that “Services will be required only during the high traffic volume times described below,” but the schedule in the available excerpt is incomplete and may include additional dates or times.
If more than one organization submits a letter of interest, the Fair Board plans to select by lottery: “In the event of multiple letters of interest, selection will be based on a lottery.” Submissions must be mailed or delivered in a sealed envelope marked “Parking Attendant Services.” Supporting paperwork requested includes name of organization, address, supervising agent, telephone number and proposed amount, and if required proof of insurance.
The public posting contains one truncated administrative sentence: “The Board of Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all bids and to accept”, the notice ends there. The Fair Board’s materials otherwise list deadlines and the proposal-opening schedule but do not include the full reservation-of-rights clause or the complete schedule of required staffing times in the excerpt provided.
Organizations or volunteers with questions or who want to confirm schedule and insurance requirements should contact Fair Administrative Assistant Allison Hermes at Hermesa@logancountyco.gov or 970-522-0888 ext. 222, or Fair Manager Guy McEndaffer at MandMFarms@aol.com or 315 Main Street, Sterling, CO 80751. To compete for the contract, submit a sealed proposal marked “Parking Attendant Services” by 5 p.m. April 3, 2026; plan to attend the Fair Board meeting April 9 to hear proposal openings.
